Browned Butter Snickerdoodles | The Novice Housewife

I have never had a snickerdoodle cookie. Which is weird because when I was in India I was obsessed with trying it out. When my friend and I wanted to open our own thing (back in 2009)- I wanted to include it in our menu, even though I had never tried it. I had only seen and read about it online. No bakery in India (as far as I was aware) sold these cookies. My friend could not understand my obsession with it, but anything with cinnamon sugar and I am already in love with it.

I really wanted to try a snickerdoodle from a good bakery before I made it at home to know how it should actually taste. But somehow it has always slipped my mind when I am out, and I have ended up trying other things. So I decided to try it out anyway.

Magnolia Bakery's Blueberry Jamboree | The Novice Housewife

Magnolia Bakery's Blueberry Jamboree | The Novice HousewifeThis dessert was introduced to me by sister-in-law. She was in New York visiting her sister and Magnolia Bakery was her favorite place to hang out. One day she called me to say that I have to find the recipe for Blueberry Jamboree. That it is THE best thing she has ever had.

Fortunately for her and for me, I found a recipe quite easily, and ever since I have been hooked.

Its fairly easy with no complicated steps. It is eggless- so if you are looking for a great dessert to feed someone who does not take eggs- this recipe is the best route to take. Its got a buttery pecan crust, a whipped cream and cream cheese filling in the centre and a blueberry pie filling topping. Believe me, you want to make this dessert and you want to make it now.

Couscous Salad with Chickpeas, Roasted Tomatoes and Boiled Eggs | The Novice HousewifeThis couscous salad with roasted tomatoes, cumin and garlic tossed chickpeas, and eggs covered in a cumin flavored yogurt dressing happened last weekend. I would have posted the recipe sooner, but my computer just kept playing spoil sport. I have finally upgraded the RAM, and now it seems to be working fine, and the internet which stopped working yesterday, is back on, so hopefully I will be back to blogging and sharing recipes with you again.

Its pretty difficult to write a post about cooked food because this salad was also my big send off to raw week. Which means while I am typing this recipe I have been on raw food for 4 days now. Remember the last time I went raw? I have it all documented here. This time I have been updating my instagram with my raw routine, so if you are interested in checking it out you can here.
