Mango Jalapeno Margarita

A vibrant refreshing summer cocktail that perfectly balances sweet mangoes with a sharp kick of jalapenos and a clean tequila finish

Serves: 3 glasses
Ingredients
  • 1 cup mango pulp
  • 3-5 slices of jalapeno
  • Ice
  • 120-150 ml tequila (depends on how potent you want, we use 130 ml)
  • 30 ml fresh lime juice
  • 30-45 ml cointreau
  • 10-30 ml simple syrup (depending on how sweet you like your drinks- you can also skip the simple syrup if your mangoes are sweet and do not like your drinks too sweet)
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder or paprika plus 1 tbsp pink salt OR Tajin for rimming the glass
Instructions
  1. In a wide bowl (wide enough to dip your glasses in) mix the salt and red chili powder.
  2. Rim a cocktail glass with lime. Dip the glass in the chili salt.
  3. In a blender add the mango pulp, along with the jalapeƱos and 5-6 cubes of ice. Blend to a puree.
  4. In a pitcher, mix all the puree with the tequila, cointreau, lime juice and simple syrup (if using) and stir.
  5. Add crushed ice or a big cube of ice in the prepped glasses.
  6. Pour in the drink.
  7. Garnish with mango cubes and a slice of jalapeno
  8. The recipe makes 3 glasses.
NOTE:
  1. You can also strain the mango jalapeno mixture after blending it for a less texture drink, and then add the alcohol and lime juice. If you do that I would suggest to add a few cubes of chopped mango along with the ice in your prepped glasses for added mango flavor. I personally like the thick texture of this margarita but to make it a smoother sip straining helps.
