Sweet Tahini Buns

Ingredients
  • 1 cup tahini paste
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds
  • all purpose flour, for rolling pastry dough
  • 2 sheets frozen, puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl mix the tahini paste with sea salt, brown sugar and the sesame seeds. I actually was out of sesame seeds and so did not add them.
  3. Roll pastry dough out to 10 by 20 inch, ¼ inch thick. The long sides should be the top and bottom
  4. Spread the tahini mixture onto the pastry dough, leaving one inch on the top and bottom.
  5. Roll the dough tightly like a jelly roll, and place seam side down on the board.
  6. Cut roll into 12 equal slices.
  7. Put the rolls on the baking sheet and brush with egg wash.
  8. Bake buns for 25 minutes, until deep golden.
  9. Cool on rack for 2 minutes and serve warm.
